The lock bridge

These are all of our locks before we put them on the lock bridge. Jason was so proud of me.

Boris and Me

Tyoma and Igor

Right here is the loudest kid in the school (Tyoma, on the left) and the quietest kid in the school (Igor, on the right). They are both adorable, but Tyoma drives me out of my mind somedays. I swear the only volume he knows is full blast, because he doesn't speak English, he yells English.

Tania and Me

Here's Tania the foreign coordinator for the Pozniaky, Obolon, and Boyarka schools. We are at Peragova, a village south of Kyiv, that has the Life and Architecture of Ukraine Museum. We went a few Saturdays ago and it was like a breath of fresh air because there was green grass and no cars, trams, buses, marshrutkas, and metros!

Alison Time!

This is Kami's class that I rotate with for about a half hour every Tuesday and Thursday. The kids are so crazy, random, and full of energy. In this picture is Barbara, Dasha (who reminds me so much of Courtney!), Maria, Artyom, and Igor.

Blini!

Marianna taught me how to make blinis one Saturday morning. Hopefully I will be able to recreate them for all of you!

Anton's mullet again

I thought this was a great picture of Anton's mullet because of the way the neck tickles just freely hang out the back of his hat. It's getting longer and longer...

The jacket.

Here I am on Anton's bike in our apartment building. My host mom, Marianna is just coming out of the elevator. Marianna helped me out by letting me borrow her sweet white 80's style jacket and I love it! :) She thought I was too cold in a sweatshirt. When she first gave me the jacket to wear she told me that it is supposed to be worn with a short shirt so your stomach can show. Haha :) Whenever I see the other teachers or when I go to church I always have to mention that the jacket is my host moms and she's letting me borrow it so they don't think that I actually bought it.

The little kids

This is one of my favorite classes. This is Polina, Zhenia, Ivan, Tonia, and Yeva. Yeva and Polina are sisters and they want to have the same everything. If Yeva wants a pink pipe cleaner, then Polina has to have a pink pipe cleaner. The most frequent phrases I hear during this class is, "I want to pink!" and "No Russian!" and "I no this."

Museum

Here we are outside of the Dresden museums. This is

Me, Jayme, Chanell, Michelle, and Kami.

Bratwurst again

This is Michelle and I bratwurst fighting. Chanell is between us.

I vant a bratvurst!

This is me and the man that sold me a bratwurst in Dresden. He was the nicest old man ever who spoke no English at all. When you buy bratwurst here, they give you a huge long bratwurst and then a roll to eat it with and ketchup on the side. It was an interesting way of eating, but it worked. The roll was actually way better than any bread I've ever had in Ukraine.

Dresden, Germany!

Apparently this is supposed to be the "heart" of Dresden, but really it's just french fries exploding out of a sphere.

Cathedral

This is a ginormous Gothic cathedral that was right next to Prague castle. The stained glass and intricate architecture was so fascinating. It was impossible to get the whole thing in one frame so this is only the top of it.

The best meal ever...

This was the best thing I've ever eaten in my life!

It was grilled steak and onions in a bun. Plus the people that sold it to us were way nice.

Easter!

They had a giant chocolate bunny in the "Easter square" area

in downtown Prague and I just couldn't stop myself. :)

The guards

The only word I have for this picture is: awkward. He's totally looking at me like I'm stupid out of the corner of his eye. I don't even know what I'm really trying to accomplish in this picture... This was right before we got to watch the changing of the guard outside the castle.

Praga/Praha/Prague!

Here I am in Prague! It was SO cold when we were there. This is just one of the views of the city from Prague Castle area.

Random Photos

Since I didn't have time to post some of the trip photos or Russia photos here is a shmorgasborg (sp?) of them...
